Christmas parade plans in full swing

It’s still three months away, but plans for the 2013 Christmas Parade are well under way.

As well as floats and various vehicles weaving their way through the streets of Oamaru, four North Otago Aero Club planes will fly in formation above the parade. They will be joined by three helicopters, including an Iroquois.

A Yak-3 WWII fighter aircraft, will also to a fly-by over the town.

“We’ve got to step up each year,” Parade organiser Anton Roswell said.

This year there will be a concert after the parade for two hours, featuring a range of local performers.
