Be ready for a night of laughs as comedians descend on the town during the 2Degrees Comedy Convoy this week.
The 2014 NZ International Comedy Festival will be bringing comedians Justine Smith (NZ), Jarred Fell (NZ), Markus Birdman (UK) and Carl Donnelly (UK) led by Paul Ego (NZ) to the Oamaru Opera House on Thursday.
Comedian Justine Smith, originally from Christchurch, said she was looking forward to performing in Oamaru, where she used to holiday when she was young.
“Oamaru is my favourite place in the country, I love it,” she said.
She would not have much time to see the “beautiful buildings and vintage clothes” but would make sure to show the others some aspects of the “peaceful” town.
The whole group was “amped” and excited for the show which would include 20 minute stints from each comedian, she said.
“It’s the nicest bunch of dudes.”
Ms Smith said she would be talking about female-friendly porn and always making soup now that she is “getting old”.
“It’s a bit racey.”
Whilst away she would really miss her two little kittens, and probably her partner, the comedian said.
The 2Degrees Comedy Convoy will be showing at the Oamaru Opera House on Thursday, May 15 at 8pm.
