Judges of the The North Otago Floral Art Group’s premier competition will be well-prepared to evaluate the qualities of both contemporary and traditional art when the event is staged next week.
The annual Designer of the Year competition and exhibition is being held at the Oamaru Opera House on October 8, 9, and 10 and this year’s theme is ‘Centre Stage.’
President Jan Wheeler said the theme would fit very well with the beautiful venue.
“There will be many different interpretations of style and colour for this flamboyant title due to members of the North Otago Floral Art Group using a variety of plant materials and flowers,” she said.
Jan Chambers, of Timaru, is to judge the competition and will have completed her job by 12.30pm next Wednesday. Trophies will be presented to the winners at 1.30pm.
The winner of the the Most Popular Design by public vote will be presented with their award on Friday, October 10, at 4pm.
