Kudos win another band competition

Local teenage band Kudos have made another step forward by winning the rock band competition at the South Canterbury A & P Show in Waimate last Saturday.

The band, rocked the stage for about 45 minutes on a day which was highlighted by plenty of rain.

Kudos were one of four bands to enter the competition and came away with the $1500 cheque for winning.

The winning of the cheque is not the only thing the band have won this year, with the band the regional Smoke-free Rockquest winners and also victorious in the Battle of the Bands.

Kudos band manager Sara Martin said the band were chuffed to received the cheque.

“They were really happy it’s a lot of money and we are unsure as to exactly what the band will do with it.”

Kudos were a massive hit at the Weston School fireworks and are unsure yet whether or not they will take part in the Christmas Parade.

Whether or not the band continue next year is undecided with a member or two considering study outside Oamaru.
