A glossy new book promoting the Waitaki district has been produced by Pen-y-bryn Lodge owners James Glucksman and James Boussy.
It took a year to complete the project – much longer than anticipated, Mr Glucksman said. They were going to focus on their lodge, but believed there was a gap in the marketplace for a pictorial book showcasing the town and district’s exceptional landscapes and architecture.
A section on Pen-y-bryn is at the rear of the volume.
Mr Glucksman took “the vast majority” of the photographs; the rest were supplied.
Mr Boussy and Mr Glucksman contemplated having the book printed in their home country, the United States, but decided to keep it local by enlisting longstanding Oamaru firm Brackens Print.
“I’m happy with it,” Mr Glucksman said.
The book went on sale last month for $40. It is available at Pen-y-bryn, PaperPlus, the i-Site, Steam, Presence on Harbour, and Art on Tyne.
