The North Otago Cake Decorators Guild has celebrated its 30th birthday.
A large group of members gathered at the Galleon recently for the special occasion. Founding members Lois Miles and Millie Bond were given certificates acknowledging their three decades of continuous service.
Member Margaret McBride said fashions in cake decorating had changed over the years. Chunky, bold styles were popular now and the lace work that was once in vogue had fallen out of favour. Flowers, though, remained popular, especially for wedding cakes. All manner of products had come on to the market for cake decorating.
