More than 12,500 electricity consumers on the Network Waitaki network are set to receive discounts on their electricity bills this month, or next. Households and businesses that have been connected to the network for a full 12-month period will receive a payout of $125.12 or more, depending on their electricity price plan.
In total, 2019 consumers will receive the discount of $125.12, while 8611 will receive a slightly higher discount of $127.33. Other discounts range from $155.58 to $2720.37.
The discounts come from a total pool of $2.07million and are made up of discretionary and non-discretionary discounts.
The non-discretionary discount, of at least $66.42, was determined in December 2014 before the start of Network Waitaki’s April 1, 2015, financial year, while the discretionary discount, of at least $57.86, is based on the company’s performance and market conditions.
The discount will be displayed as “Network Waitaki Ltd Discount” on consumers’ March or April bills.
Network Waitaki, owned by the Waitaki Power Trust, has a distribution area which covers the area from the Waitaki River to Shag Point, and into the Waitaki Valley as far as Ohau and the Hakataramea Valley.
