Dozens of year 11 pupils from all four North Otago secondary high schools are getting entrepreneurial in the Waitaki Girls’ High School this week.
They began the three-day Business Challenge on Wednesday and go in front of the judges this afternoon.
Participants were put into teams that had to form a “company”, appoint a chief executive, develop a “virtual product”, write a business plan for it, and present it to local business leaders who would assess their achievements.
Wellington-based consultant Greig Caigou, who delivers the programme for the not-for-profit Young Enterprise Trust, urged all teams to blow him away with the calibre of their ideas and presentations.
Next week’s Oamaru Mail will include the results of the challenge.
