The North Otago branch of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club will host its annual charity bike ride on Anzac Day.

Money raised from the event will be donated to St John Oamaru.

This year’s ride will mark the fifth annual event held in the region.

Club spokesman Bruce Thacker was excited about the chance to take part in the ride for a good cause, especially as last year’s was cancelled.

“Last year we had to call it off because the weather was awful.”

Between 25 and 35 motorcyclists were expected to participate in this year’s ride, he said.

It was important to Mr Thacker that people continued to support St John.

“Motorcyclists are quite generous towards this because they realise that they need funds and, heaven forbid, we might require them one day.

“It’s to let the public know what’s happening. Why are we doing this? I guess, for a lot of people, it’s obvious.”

The event starts at 1pm on Wednesday at the St John building at the back of the Eden St car park, and finishes at Purton’s Cafe and Bar in Maheno at 3pm.Nike footwear¿Qué es un oxímetro? – Medir el oxígeno en sangre con Covid-19
