The Oamaru Zonta Club recently welcomed two new board members at a dinner in the Cucina 1871 restaurant last week.
Zonta, which focuses on advancing the status of women, has been operating in Oamaru for around six years.
Club president Jill Squire said Zonta was pleased to welcome the new members to the board.
“We are happy with the people who were chosen and we know they will do a great job for the board.”
Ms Squire, who has been president for a term, said it was common for roles to be changed.
“It’s common for roles within Zonta to be continually changed.”
Zonta has just finished fundraising and used the money to help female students at St Kevin’s College and Waitaki Girls’ High School.
“We make sure our money we get from fundraising is used to help women in the community.”
Ms Squire was confident the people selected for the job were the right fit.
“They all lend a hand and help out, but are also very good at what they need to do for the group.”
The two new board members are Jenni Martin and Hillary Bishop. Mrs Bishop is set to take over the secretary role.
