North Otago Rugby Union chief executive Colin Jackson has been appointed as a trustee to the Otago Community Trust.
Mr Jackson, who was appointed by the Associate Minister of Finance Jonathon Coleman last week, along with Peter Chin (Dunedin), Kate Hazlett (Roxburgh) and Susan Johnstone (Balclutha), will begin his new role this month.
A graduate from the Wellington School of Journalism, Mr Jackson worked as a journalist for the Otago Daily Times, he has also been a professional cricketer and coach in the Netherlands, and club manager for the Cornwall Cricket Club in Auckland.
Mr Jackson has served as a professional rugby coach, and was director of rugby at the Bedford Rugby Club in England.
He was also a director of Sanctuary Sports Management in London.
The trust also appointed a new chair, Lauren Semple, who will take over from Stuart Walker in July.
Mr Walker along with fellow trustees Louise Rosson and Ken Lister have retired from the trust.
Former trustee Ken Copeland passed away in 2013.
Present trustee Stephen Kornyei has been reappointed to the trust for a second term.
