RSA seeks help on poppy street stalls

Buy a poppy, wear a poppy _ and maybe even help sell a poppy.
That, according to North Otago RSA stalwart John Longman, is how locals can help prepare to commemorate Anzac Day.
Mr Longman, the chairman of the Waitaki District RSA Welfare Trust, is seeking help for Poppy Day, April 22, when people are out selling poppies for the big day.
Poppies are already available from various businesses around the district but the trust needs “as many people as we can get” to man seven street stalls next Friday.
“And the good news is we have got plenty of poppies this year,” Mr Longman told the Oamaru Mail.
“We had the poppy shortage last year and were all sold out by about 2pm.
“We’ve ordered 10,000 this year.”Anyone keen to help out on Poppy Day can contact Mr Longman on (03) 431-2800.
