The Oamaru District Court, held at the temporary facility on Humber St yesterday, was presided over by Judge Joanna Maze.

Nahida Ann Foulsham, 18, dairy farm worker, of Waianakarua, was convicted and ordered to pay $500 reparation for threatening to kill after texting her partner’s ex-girlfriend between August 6 and August 8, 2014, saying she was going to “get” her, because she thought the ex-girlfriend had given her partner a sexually transmitted disease which was then transferred to her.

Daniel Charles Hewitt, 18, freezing worker, of Oamaru, was convicted, fined $200 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for six months (starting December 26) for driving while disqualified on Thames Highway on October 17, 2014.

Omega Masoe, 24, labourer, of Oamaru, was convicted and fined $100 for driving while forbidden on Till St on October 11, 2014. He was also convicted, fined $600 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for six months for driving with an excess breath alcohol level of 710mcg at the same time.

Chantelle Amanda McLachlan, 33, receptionist, of Goodwood, was convicted and fined $450 for driving with an excess breath alcohol level of 692mcg on Thames St on October 24, 2014, and fined $200 for driving while suspended on Goodwood Rd on November 13, 2014. She was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for eight months on both charges.

David James Naylor, 66, retired, of Oamaru, was convicted, sentenced to nine months’ supervision, ordered to pay medical expenses of $75 and analyst fees of $109.25 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for six months for driving with an excess blood alcohol level of at least 185mcg on Severn St on September 13, 2014.

Peter William Smith, 25, of Oamaru, was convicted, sentenced to 75 hours’ community work and ordered to pay reparation of $40 for unlawfully getting into a motor vehicle and theft under $500 after being found in a stolen vehicle on June 5 and for failing to pay for $40 worth of petrol at Caltex in Whanganui for the same vehicle on June 6, 2014.

Jonathan Paul Winter, 32, shearer, of Kurow, was convicted, fined $1000 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for six months for driving with an excess breath alcohol level of 961mcg on Balmoral St on November 16, 2014.
