The mother of the five-year-old Oamaru girl killed in a vehicle collision is pleased the High Court has dismissed the tourist driver’s appeal against his sentence.
The decision to uphold the sentence of Beijing resident Jing Cao (32) was released by Justice David Gendall in the Dunedin High Court on Friday.
Mr Cao was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment on June 9 for dangerous driving causing the death of Ruby Marris in a vehicle collision near Moeraki in February.
