A neighbourhood watch group set up to combat poaching in the Hakataramea Valley and Meyers Pass is in its early stages.
The group was set up and police patrols increased after recent incidents of poaching.
Meyers Pass Rd farmer and member of the group, John Dale, said farmers had watched out for each other in regards to poaching for years, but an increase led them to start an official group.
