Thursday turned out to be a busy day for Waimate emergency services, who attended two incidents in the space of two hours.
About 3:30pm, police and the Waimate fire service and police were called to a quad bike accident in Serpentine Valley Rd.
Waimate Chief Fire Officer Duncan Lyall said the area where the accident, which involved the quad bike rolling 10m down a hill, took place was accessible only by four-wheel drive.
