Heavy seas that hit the coast of New Zealand nearly two weeks ago caused further erosion to a section of road in Oamaru, Waitaki District Council roading manager Michael Voss says.
A low pressure weather system and strong Southerlies from the Antarctic drove heavy seas along the east coast of New Zealand on May 27.
Mr Voss said the heavy seas caused an area at the end of Foyle St to erode a further 1m, leading the WDC to move a barrier inland.
