Kakanui monitoring project to begin

An environmental monitoring project focused on improving farming in the Kakanui catchment is set to begin this week.

The two month programme is being conducted by the NZ Landcare Trust as part of their focus to improve water quality, reduce soil erosion and enhance biodiversity in the wider catchment area.

Ecologist Bob Cooper was out recently setting up sites to determine which insects and invertebrates were living in the ecosystems.
