The Otematata Lakes Hotel is looking for a sales executive to help them tap into the Bollywood movie market.

The hotel is looking for a sales and business development executive with experience in the corporate market in India and the ability to speak Hindi.

Otematata Lakes Hotel’s new director Shiv Mattu, who has been here for six months, said a number of Bollywood film companies have shot movies in New Zealand and Waitaki would be an ideal setting.

“It’s the perfect location in my view.”

Otematata is beautiful and the layout of the land would allow the companies to film anything they wanted from car chases to people on jet skis, he said.

If the hotel could tap into the industry it would bring more people into the area which would boost the whole economy, the director said.

“Otematata is like a paradise not discovered.”

Mr Mattu said he believed if he found the right person, who could liaise with the Bollywood market, there would be scope for the industry to come here.

A large number of Indian newlyweds also liked to come to New Zealand for their honeymoons and the new employee would be able to help bring them into North Otago, he said.

He has already had quite a bit of interest and a number of CVs have been sent through to him from around New Zealand.
