WHAT A MESS: St Kevin’s College students raised nearly $400 for this weekend’s North Otago Relay for Life during an unusual fundraising event yesterday afternoon.
A total of $160 was raised by students (and staff) by purchasing cream pies and water balloons to throw at deputy principal Kerry Ryan who was tied to a pole at the school’s tennis courts.
Pictured is year 13 student Josh Macaulay throwing a cream pie at a messy Mr Ryan.
Mr Ryan said the day was good, honest fun and raised money for the school’s three Relay for Life teams.
“I’m very proud of the efforts they have made and the way students and staff have rallied to support them.”
The rest of the money ($236.70) was raised through a sausage sizzle.
