Clients of the Oamaru Community Mental Health Centre (OCMHC) are concerned about the time delays for information regarding funding cuts at the Oamaru Hospital, centre manager Denise Bondarenko says.
Earlier this year, the Southern District Health Board (SDHB) proposed a 5% funding cut to rural hospitals including Oamaru, which is run by the Waitaki District Health Services (WDHS).
The health board was also experiencing serious financial issues, including a forecasted deficit of $42 million for 2015-16, which lead health minister Jonathan Coleman to replace the board with a commissioner in June.
