Early start for 100th birthday

CELEBRATING A CENTURY: Oamaru resident Bina Mulligan ¬†will be celebrating her 100th birthday tomorrow with a family Mass and a party at a relative’s house.

However, celebrations started early, with cards arriving from friends, family and dignitaries including the Queen, Prime Minister John Key and Waitaki MP Jacqui Dean.

Mrs Mulligan grew up in Enfield and moved to Oamaru in 1964.

She has six children, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.

Throughout her life she has been involved in the Catholic church and Catholic Women’s League.
