FURTHER UNVEILING: From left, Waitaki mayor Gary Kircher and artists Trish Shirley and Donna Demente at the unveiling of two additional mural panels, depicting the birthplace of New Zealand’s frozen meat industry, Totara Estate, on Monday afternoon.
Four out of 11 panels which are set to line Countdown’s blank Thames St wall for a ‘Windows on the Waitaki’ mural which depicts features of Oamaru have now been hung.
The panels have been created by Shirley, Demente and Watts Davies with the project overseen by Ken Laraman.
The project was funded by Countdown and the Waitaki District Council, who contributed $15,000 and $5000 respectively.
