Weston School showed its musical talents by welcoming some visitors from Guangdong in China with a range of New Zealand songs yesterday.

Deputy principal Sharlene Carki said the school was delighted to have the visitors.

“We’re pleased with how things have gone and are really pleased to have them here at the school and show them how we operate, and hopefully they can learn and see a number of different things we do here.

Chinese tour guide leader Qiliang Sang, of Link Business and Travel Ltd, said the trip entailed learning about New Zealand.

“We want to learn so much about New Zealand while we’re here so our children can pick up some new experiences to take home with them.

The group headed to Christchurch last night before flying to Auckland to celebrate Chinese New Year on Thursday.
