Navy chief awarded for efforts

A former Oamaruvian was officially recognised for his services to the Navy, in particular supporting the New Zealand Defence Force’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning community, on Saturday.

Royal New Zealand Navy Chief Petty Officer Master at Arms Bradley Harris was awarded a commendation for his contribution to the Navy, mainly his role as the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) representative on the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Overwatch Management Group.

NZDF Overwatch is a group that provides support and guidance to the NZDF Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning (GLBTIQ) community.
