The recent cold snap has resulted in hundreds of burst pipes and plenty of work for plumbers.

Waitaki District Council assets manager Neil Jorgensen said the cold weather had seen pipes bursting all over the district.

“It’s been one of the coldest winters on record since I’ve been here and that has seen a large increase in burst pipes.”
