Team gives shirts to appeal

Some Vanuatu school children will soon don a piece of English football history, thanks to the generosity of an Oamaru man.

Steve Cooper has donated a set of West Ham United centenary shirts created for the side in 1995, to an appeal which Oamaru woman Jacquie Webby has helped organise alongside Sally Austin and Barry McCallum and Richard Hill of Oamaru Sports and Outdoors.

All up, 13 shirts will be sent to Vanuatu, along with a goal keeper’s jersey.
