What began as a pleasant campervan trip around the South Island took an unwelcome, if not slightly embarrassing, turn for a Wellington woman yesterday afternoon.
Pauline Murphy, along with a group of friends from various centres in the North Island, have been enjoying a trip around the South Island in their rented campervans and yesterday was the third day of their scheduled 14-day trip.
However, proceedings went awry at about 12.40pm when Mrs Murphy attempted to pull the campervan she was driving in to the car park area in the middle of lower Thames St, which is lined with trees.
