The organisers of the Gigatown 101 social media workshop held last Thursday say the night was a success.
Gigatown Oamaru ambassador Derek Golding said, with about 19 people in attendance, people had embraced the night.
“It went very well, we had a good turnout and everybody seemed to really enjoy it,” Mr Golding said.
The first half of the night was spent talking about social media, and the second half was used to help those in attendance start setting up a social media presence for their business.
“We are planning more sessions over the coming months,” he said.
Social media presented a good opportunity for local businesses to expand their online presence and draw in new customers, Mr Golding said.
Information on further workshops would be available at a later date.
