A Waitaki group is fighting back against legal highs.
The Waitaki Safer Community Working Group, which opposes the sale of legal highs, is a coalition of community stakeholders, that aims to eliminate synthetic cannabinoids from local shelves.
Today marks the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and, although a number of the products are currently legal, the group said they could have adverse and severe effects on people’s health and well-being, which has been made evident by hearing personal statements.
