Waitaki Mayor Gary Kircher is confident well in excess of 1000 people will join a march against underfunding and proposed cuts to Waitaki health services.
In April, the Souther District Health Board (SDHB) proposed a 5% cut to rural hospital funding, which could severely impact on health services in Waitaki.
Earlier this month, the SDHB was sacked and replaced by a government-appointed commissioner Kathy Grant and deputies Richard Thompson and Graham Crombie.
