Horse doctor, breeder of Clydesdales and poet, early Oamaru resident Bob Mitchell was a man of many parts and he is now the subject of a small display in the Oamaru Public Library.
Heritage librarian Chris Meech has researched Mitchell’s life story and discovered some interesting material.
“I thought I would highlight him because he had an adventurous life and he was a character who loved North Otago. He always came back here.”
