Victorian Fete organisers were pleased with the attendance of 5000 at this year’s fete which puts in on par with previous years.
The event was held on Sunday, November 16, as part of the Victorian Heritage Celebrations.
Fete coordinator Faye Ormandy said 4500 people came through the gates not including pre-schoolers, people with passes, stallholders or entertainers.
“There were more than 5000 people there.
“That takes in everybody that was there.
“There were people everywhere.”
The numbers were about the same as last year and have been at that level for the past few years, she said.
“I think that’s a really good number.
“The fete had a nice, relaxed feel about it this year.”
This was partly because of more space being created from the use of Wansbeck St for stalls as well as having “world-class entertainment”.
“It was just great.
“We’re just really luck to have such talented entertainers and volunteers.
“We are very, very fortunate that we can put on an event that’s as large as that.”
Mrs Ormandy said they had not currently worked out the finances they would know more this week.
