Burglaries in same street

Oamaru police are investigating two reports of burglaries on Exe St.

On Monday morning, a house was allegedly broken into.

The owner had left the premises for about two hours and returned to find the television, DVD player and laptop gone.

The theft was reported to police that morning.

That afternoon, another Exe St resident, living across the road, reported a lawnmower missing. It had been taken from a shed.

Oamaru police Constable Stuart Dowling asked anyone who saw anything unusual on Monday morning, particularly around the bottom end of Exe St, to report it to police.

"Between Humber and Thames streets, anything unusual between about 8am and 10am," he said.

Mr Dowling said the two incidents were likely to be related.
