Floozie Suzie to bring our shady past to light

SHOW STOPPER: Annie's Tearooms will host tell-tale theatre from January 26 until February 9.
SHOW STOPPER: Annie's Tearooms will host tell-tale theatre from January 26 until February 9.

A live show will transform Annie's Tearooms into a theatre this week.

The show follows Floozie Suzie and her cast of real-life characters as they turn Annie's Tearooms into a tell-tale theatre.

Suzie is a self-proclaimed first lady of the town and takes the audience back to witness the trials, tragedies and triumphs of Oamaru beginnings.

The performance is brought to life by the Living History Players.

Promoter Scott Elliffe believes the show offers visitors a unique insight into the town's early history in a highly engaging and entertaining way.

"If it only answers why such stunning buildings exist in such a small town then it's done its job," he said.

"As such, it's a great opportunity for locals to host visiting friends and family in celebrating 'our story'."

The 50 minute show is followed by a light supper in a limited season run over three Saturday nights - January 26 and February 2 and 9, starting at 6pm.

Bookings can be made through the Oamaru i-SITE Visitor Centre, Annie's Victorian Tearooms or online through Ticket Direct.
