Round 6 of the Southern Sub Club Tennis Competition is offering up some exciting clashes.

Herbert will be looking to take advantage of their fresh legs in their clash against Weston following their bye last week.

There's nothing to choose between the two teams on the table, with five points each and Herbert Stalwart Robin Jamieson is expecting a tough contest in the battle for second spot.

"It'll be a close game against Weston, they're always pretty strong," he said.

"From what I've seen previously they've always been good, Leanne Mavor and Jeremy Ferguson are very good players, they've got a strong line-up."

Weston's Leanne Mavor said the two teams usually produced close results and didn't expect tomorrow to be any different with the talent on show.

"It always has been [close], Herbert and Weston have talented players," she said.

"Robin [Jamieson] and Janos [Manyai] are strong players, Janos was ranked at No8 in Hungary, so he's a very good player."

Table-toppers Hampden will be looking to carry their strong form from their 5-4 win over Weston last week into their match with Waimanui.

Waimanui lost out to Oamaru Central in round 5. They are currently bottom of the ladder with just a solitary point but will want to buck the trend tomorrow. Oamaru will have a bye this week after picking up their first win of the campaign last week.
