Stunning: NZ Trio performers (from left) Ashley Brown (cellist), Justine Cormack (violinist) and Sarah Watkins (pianist) join Pen-y-bryn Lodge owners James Boussy and James Glucksman for the concert.
Performing at Pen-y-bryn Lodge on Tuesday night was a "wonderful" experience for NZ Trio violinist Justine Cormack and she hopes they will be back soon.
More than 40 people attended the show at the intimate venue showcasing New Zealand talent.
Ms Cormack, who has been playing the violin for 38 years, said they were pleased to return to Oamaru after performing at the Opera House two years ago.
"The room [at Pen-y-bryn] was full ... It's a really powerful space to play in and has beautiful acoustics," she said. "The place chamber music was written for."
The NZ Trio consists of Ms Cormack, cellist Ashley Brown and pianist Sarah Watkins, who first joined forces in 2002.
They have since captivated music lovers throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia, South America, the US and the UK and appeared at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
Ms Cormack said they "play in all sorts of places" and were thrilled with Oamaru hospitality.
"We felt very lucky to be staying there ... It was a total treat for us and Oamaru is a lovely place," she said.
"We would be really happy to make this an annual thing."
This year will see the trio performing internationally in the City of London Festival as well as Europe, Australia and Asia.
