- Oamaru police have received a report of a burglary from 20 Orwell St. A mig welder and gas bottle were allegedly stolen from a garage between January 14 and 17. If anybody in that area saw anything suspicious, call the Oamaru police on 433 1400.

- Police are currently investigating the theft of a handbag from a Thames St address. It was reported to police on January 18.

- On Friday, at about 3pm, an Oamaru woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting from Super Liquor. She was found with a bottle of alcohol in her bag.

- On Friday, at about 7.50pm, a local man was arrested for allegedly refusing to undergo evidential breath testing. The man refused to take part in any of the procedure. He was released on bail and is due to appear in the Oamaru District Court at the next sitting.

- At about midnight on Saturday, a local man was charged with drink driving on Wharfe St, recording an excess breath alcohol reading of 618mcg.

- Also on Saturday, at about 4.50am, a 19-year-old Oamaru man was stopped on Severn St and allegedly recorded an excess breath alcohol reading of under 150mcg. He was given an instant $150 fine and 50 demerit points.

- On Sunday, Oamaru police received a report of a stolen car from Teviot St. It was later located on Tees St.

- Also on Sunday, at about 11am, an iPod and a mobile phone were reported stolen from a Teviot St address. Anyone with information can contact the Oamaru police on 433 1400.
