Drink driver guilty of failing to stop for police

A former Oamaru woman who denied charges of failing to stop for police and resisting a constable in the execution of his duty was found guilty by Judge Joanna Maze in the Oamaru District Court last week.

Debbie Marie Carey, 44, unemployed, now of Balclutha was convicted, sentenced to 100 hours’ community work and disqualified from driving for nine months after being found guilty of driving with an excess breath alcohol level of 620mcg on Solway St on February 16. On charges of failing to stop for police and resisting a constable in the execution of his duty on the same day, she was convicted and discharged.
