Info sought on alleged historic sexual offending

Oamaru Police are seeking further information in relation to a 71-year-old Palmerston man who faces charges of alleged historical sexual offending.

Leonard James Mulholland was arrested in December and appeared in the Dunedin District Court on December 20.

He is due to reappear at the Oamaru District Court on January 29 in relation to a number of alleged indecent assaults relating to 10 victims.

Police say a total of 95 sexual offending charges are to be laid against him.

The alleged offending occurred between 1980 and 2010 in Dunedin and Otago when Mr Mulholland was working as a washing machine serviceman.

The Ministry of Justice confirmed there had been no name suppression on the case.

As part of the investigation, police are urging anyone with further information to contact them.
