Man airlifted after van rolls over on black ice

A man was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital with neck, head, back and pelvis injuries after the van he was driving hit black ice and rolled in Kurow yesterday morning.

Kurow police Constable Craig Bennett said a culvert on the left-hand side of the road by the Kurow Cemetery had been flooded for several weeks, and with overnight temperatures about -4C, the water on the road had frozen.
