Police locate suspected stolen goods


On Monday, Oamaru Police located a variety of property that they suspect may have been stolen.

The property includes; a set of green coloured Wenoka Sea Style diving fins, size XL, a small Onya backpack in a bag and a pq1 2GB USB containing music.

Some of the music on the USB includes; Walkin’ on the Sun, Crawl, Tonight, Tonight, Killer Queen, Into the Heart, The Whole of the Moon, Cloudbusting and Need You Tonight.

“Police suspect the items may have been stolen in the Oamaru area, possibly from parked cars,” Oamaru police Detective Kevin Kirkman said.

At 12.05am yesterday, a 39-year-old Oamaru man allegedly recorded an excess breath alcohol level of 513mcg on Thames St. He has been charged with drink-driving.

Sometime between 10.30pm on Monday and 9.30am yesterday, someone climbed onto the Junction Fish Supply roof and broke the sun roof. It does not appear that anyone entered the shop or anything was taken.
