Police praise motorists’ safe driving

Waitaki Police are praising the behaviour of the vast majority of motorists passing school buses in the first week of a targeted operation.

Last week, police launched a targeted road safety campaign in Waitaki aimed at reducing driver’s speeds around school buses, prompted by community concern.

Oamaru police Senior Sergeant Jason McCoy said so far, the number of tickets issued had been low.
