A charity auction of seven charolais heifers and $6500 worth of other items sold for $9100 at the Special Spring Cattle Sale held at Palmerston on Friday.
The auction was held before the cattle sale to raise money for the Edgar National Centre for Diabetes and Obesity Research.
The heifers were donated by Jim and Rhonda Thomson of Redbank Station in Palmerston and the additional items that were auctioned included weekend passes to Warbirds over Wanaka, a case of Pinot Noir wine, two tonnes of Ballance Sustain green urea, one tonne of SealesWinslow stock feed and free delivery of the stock to its destination.
