Firms brace for dairy fallout


Milk prices have dropped for the sixth successive time this season and it’s yet to have a significant effect on retailers in North Otago, but Federated Farmers North Otago dairy chairman Lyndon Strang expects it to hit like a tidal wave soon.

“I’m expecting that farmers have already shut their wallets and began cutting out things on the farm which are necessities.”

Mr Strang said he had looked at his own budget and cut out some spending.
