A free school holiday programme is on offer for children aged 5 to 12.
The What Next initiative is being run by the Orwell Street Church in the first week of the holidays, from September 26 to 30.
It is based on the Pixar movie Inside Out, which looks at how emotions work.
“Emotions make up a major part of why we do what we do, and children often struggle with understanding their feelings,” programme co-ordinator Tony Dudley said.
“It’s part of our design, and should be acknowledged and expressed in healthy ways.”
Activities will include games, skits and interactive lessons designed to help children think about their emotions.
The programme was free and intended to help ease the pressure on parents and caregivers during the school holidays.
“For those who wish to make a donation, a gold coin would be gratefully received. Our team of volunteers is committed to the emotional, physical and spiritual health of all children.”What Next is being held at Oamaru Intermediate School from 9.30am to 11am each day. Breakfast, at 8.30am, is an optional extra and will be supplied by Northside New World and Goodman Fielder. Pre-registrations can be made by phoning the Orwell Street Church office on 434-6168 or going to its Facebook page.Authentic Sneakers30 Winter Outfit Ideas to Kill It in 2020 – Fashion Inspiration and Discovery
