Albion, Union go head to head


Albion will lock horns with Union in the Dick Hunt Holiday Competition final tomorrow at the Whitestone Contracting Stadium.

The tie will be a repeat of last year’s final in-which Union took a tightly contested one wicket win at Awamoa Park.

Union had all but guaranteed themselves a final spot with a bye in round five, which ensured the blues a mandatory 10 points to secure a total of 40.

The Mungas booked a final place and a spot at the table’s summit the hard way by outclassing Oamaru last weekend to match Union on the table, edging out Eastern and Oamaru who finished on 30.

Eastern batted first in their final Dick Hunt clash against Valley, notching 175 before bowling out Valley for 90 in a batting display that “lacked application” according to Valley’s Nick Webster last week.

Tomorrow’s final fixture,12.30pm:

Albion vs Union, Whitestone Contracting Stadium.
