The North Otago Sports Bodies (NOSB) and Sport Waitaki have announced nominations are now open for the 2013 Network Waitaki Sports Awards.
NOSB president Peter Simpson is encouraging sports organisations and schools to nominate their successful athletes, coaches, and administrators. All finalists will receive two complimentary tickets to the awards, to be held at the Oamaru Opera house on Monday, March 10.
Sport Waitaki’s Kate Cartwright said following on from the outstanding results of the 2012 Supreme Winner rower, Johannah Kearney, there had been some great achievements by local athletes over the course of 2013.
“This year, I would really like to see some of those athletes, coaches, and administrators who fly under the radar somewhat to be nominated to allow us to acknowledge and celebrate in their successes,” she said.
Nominations can be completed at www.sportotago.co.nz under the Wider Otago tab. The website contains nomination guidelines and forms.
Nominations close at 5pm on December 13. Nominations for achievements during December will be accepted if the nomination is received by December 31.
