Bank to take on Thistle

Meadowbank United will take on Thistle A at Anzac Square in Timaru on Saturday in search of their fourth win of their South Canterbury Football League campaign.

Andy Lane’s side have returned to form in the last fortnight with a 2-2 stalemate against league leaders Northern Hearts followed by a 7-0 drubbing of Mountainview last weekend, but a baron spell of three losses in as many weeks against Timaru Boys’ High School (3-2), West End A (6-0) and Pleasant Points (4-2) damaged the Oamaru side’s title aspirations.

Thistle currently sit in fifth on the points table, one place behind Meadowbank, but will give Lane plenty to think about after putting five past Timaru Boys’ without reply in their last outing.
