The future of Waitaki Boys’ High School rugby looks to be in good hands with the Under-16s taking out the South Canterbury Cup on Saturday in a thrilling 19-16 victory over Waimate.
WBHS downed St Kevin’s College 24-13 to pave their way to the final a fortnight ago and coach Justin Meikle praised his players’ camaraderie.
“It was a great performance, we aimed to win from the start and learned from the losses,” he said.
“It was a amazing team effort from the guys, they’re a special team and all work hard for each other.”
